Our fares are changing 05/12/2025
Our fares are changing from Sunday 7 December 2025
You can find background information on these changes by clicking here
From this date, we are simplifying our fares into three types:
- Single tickets
- Multi-journey savers
- WhiteRider 1, 7 and 28-day tickets
For our regular travellers, we recommend our WhiteRider period passes, which can be purchased through the White Bus app.
We have reduced the cost of these by up to 25% to offer even better value — for example, a 1-day WhiteRider will now cost £6 instead of £8.
We will no longer sell return fares. However, our newly priced 1-day WhiteRider and 10 & 20-journey saver tickets provide more choice and flexibility.
Our new 10 & 20-journey savers can be bought exclusively through the app. They offer a saving on buying single fares separately:
- 10 journeys for the price of 8
- 20 journeys for the price of 16
There are versions available for each of our new colour-coded fare bands.
These changes aim to simplify the number of available fares and make travelling with us as easy as possible, while giving regular customers better-value options for frequent travel.
If you need help choosing the best-value ticket for your journey, please contact us at office@whitebus.co.uk.
Frequently Asked Questions
I need to buy a 10 or 20-journey saver. Which should I buy?
Our new 10 & 20-journey savers offer excellent value and flexibility, and each ticket is valid for up to 12 months from purchase. They also cost less than buying single fares separately. There are versions available for each colour-coded fare band.
To find the right one, simply:
- Check the fare chart for your regular journey.
- Note the colour band shown for that fare.
- Buy the 10 or 20-journey saver that matches your colour band.
As an added benefit, your 10 or 20-journey saver can also be used on any of our other routes for journeys priced within the same fare band.
Example: If you are travelling from Chertsey to Staines on route 446, the adult single fare is £4, shown as Pink on the fare chart. You can purchase a 10 or 20-journey saver for the Pink band and use it for that journey or any other Pink-band journey across the network.
I currently buy a weekly saver between two points on a single route. What should I buy now?
If you travel regularly on the same route, our 10 & 20-journey savers are likely the best replacement. They can also be used on other routes priced within the same fare band.
If you would benefit from unlimited travel across our network, our 7-day and 28-day WhiteRider tickets offer excellent value.
Example: If you are a student travelling between Staines and Royal Holloway and currently buy a weekly saver, you now have several options:
- 10-journey saver for the Pink band – £20
- 20-journey saver for the Pink band – £40
- 7-day Student WhiteRider – £20, which also gives unlimited travel across the full network
I currently buy a return ticket. What is the best ticket for me now?
If you are travelling out and back on the same day, the 1-day WhiteRider is the best option. Prices have been reduced and are now similar to many of our previous return fares. This ticket also provides unlimited travel across the network for the entire day.
If you travel less frequently — particularly in the Blue fare band — our 10 & 20-journey savers may offer better value.
Example 1: If you are travelling from Chertsey to Heathrow and back on the same day, you can buy a 1-day WhiteRider, offering unlimited travel for just £1 more than the single fare.
Example 2: If you are travelling wholly within the Blue fare band and do not need to use other routes, a 10 or 20-journey saver will always save you money compared with buying 10 or 20 single tickets.
I currently have a ticket that you're discontinuing, can I still use it?
Yes, if you have activated one of our current point to point saver tickets then these will still be valid until they expire.
If you have any tickets that are yet to be activated, then you must activate and use these within the next 6 months or they will expire. We are unable to refund any unused tickets so do please use these before the end of May 2026.
